Today’s great tidbit comes from Teaching Tricks’ Twitter feed, where she reminds us of the power of a well-crafted question. You might not have the time, interest, or training to lead a full Socratic seminar, but it’s always a good idea whenever possible to answer students’ questions with another question that will lead them to find their own answers.

  1. Already did a Socratic seminar this year! My students’ summer homework was The Good Earth, so I had them do a group investigation on foot binding in class and the next day we held a seminar on cultural beauty standards. It was amazing! Love the info graphic; wish I had it as a poster!
