Friend of the blog (and real-life homie) Annette just shared a link to this surprisingly challenging quiz from the folks at Mental Floss where we must determine whether a line comes from our favorite Dark Romantic era writer or a modern “emo” band. Go ahead, test your knowledge and then come back to let me know how you did!

I’m thinking this might make a fun attention-grabber the next time I take kids through the catacombs of “The Cask of Amontillado” or spend some time with “The Raven.”

I earned 14/16! How’d you do? Teach on, Poe fans.

  1. 11/16 There were three I doubted on and ended up rushing it – grrrrr! Didn’t turn out too bad, though! 🙂

  2. Not bad at all, Carolyn! I didn’t go on head knowledge, that’s for sure. It was more of a Poe-vibe thing for me. 🙂 Thanks for playing!
