How do you have a son in his late 20’s? Mind blown on your parenting timeline amongst developing two different careers, Laura…

Well, he is my step-son, but I was a senior in college (age 22) when he was born. Could’ve been mine; heck, he is mine. ? But, yeah, I’ll let you do that math.

Oh, thanks so much, Tara! It’s been a good transition and I’m really looking forward to the arrival of our students. The campus is about to become a whole lot busier in about a week or so. 🙂

Congratulations on the new job! Laura, I too have started at a library and love it. However, I started part-time in January in my small town library and as an adjunct in the neighboring town at a community college. Summer was hectic at the local library as the summer programming was more involved than I ever thought and I had no idea they did so much! still worked with middle to high school students as I scheduled activities or crafts every Friday for two months. Thank goodness for all those years veteran teachers told me to store all kinds of ideas in my “teacher toolbox”. Best of luck! Love listening to you.

Oh yeah, Shelly, teaching at a public library during the summer session would be a whirlwind! All of the fun parts of planning and classes, just with no papers to grade, right? I’m enjoying my time at the college library. Students arrive next week, so it’s sort of the calm before the storm. I can’t wait to meet them and dig back into my teacher toolbox, too! ?
