Add a little fun to your current unit with this easy-to-use worksheet that can be used with ANY reading assignment, including short stories, novels, plays, and even non-fiction/expository articles. Students choose one word from the reading assignment they don’t know and then follow the simple 11-step worksheet to become masters of that word.
This 2-page file (includes both a printable PDF and Google Drive version) includes a blank form and a completed sample to show students, if you wish. The sample is from my students’ study of To Kill a Mockingbird, focusing on a word selected from chapter 1, but you could use this worksheet with ANY piece of text your students are studying.
Hope you enjoy this activity, which works with sixth graders through high school seniors. Please note: Students will need to have access to a dictionary (either books or online) to complete this activity.
Download includes: 2-page PDF & Google Drive version (uneditable)
